Known Issues
Here is an running list of known issues with the APT that remain unresolved.
-
In APT version 1.0.23, the APT attempts to reduce run time by creating a station_classes.pickle file that stores downloaded GHCN station data for a 12-hour period, thereby decreasing the number of https requests the APT is required to make. In version 1.0.23, it was discovered that process of storing station data in station_classes.pickle file can lead to issues with selecting the primary station under any instance when the user runs the APT for the same location for multiple dates within a 12-hour time frame for the APT station-based analysis. This issue occurs because the APT doesn't pickle the entire stations time series but rather only the time frame relevant to the first observation date for which the APT is ran for that location. In version 2.0.0 the creation of the station_classes.pickle file has been deactivated, thereby somewhat slowing APT version 2.0.0 processing of station-based analyses. The development teams is seeking to determine if updating the process of creating the station_classes.pickle is a worthy endeavor.

Several users have reported that the APT will report that the 'proj.db' file cannot be found in the Antecedent Precipitation Tool directory when the file is indeed present in that directory. The cause of this issue remains unknown. The 'proj.db' file is added to the APT program manually in the spec file but so are several dll files, so this hasn't been an issue in the past.
