As I'm trying to write a new formatter, I'm suggesting changes on annoying things, like :

some gems are not installed and I really don't care for them for my formatter (eg. elastic search gem)
my formatter is not picked up but I don't know why - list the one you picked up, maybe I had a typo
some options were required when they really could use a default value : when you fail to specify a required option, we don't tell you which one is missing....
