This is reported on Ubuntu 17.10 running Gnome.

Keyboard accelerators work, but the toplevel menus (ex, File and Edit) can't be selected with the mouse.

To reproduce

  1. Start the app and dismiss the opening wizard or select an item from the opening wizard
  2. Attempt to click on a top-level menu and select an item
  3. Verify that the menu disappears when trying to select

The same on arch linux with kde plasma. You can use the alt-keys, while the mouse can't access the menu. In addition the menu is misplaced.
Workaround: Open a new window with Contr-N. There everything is fine.

The same situation with cinnamon. The shorcuts keys work fine. But I've downloaded the 8.5.0 version for java8, this not working on fire. After I've downloaded the 10.0.0 version for java10. I've executed the 10.0.0 with the java10 VM. In the 10.0.0 version work fine the menues. Then I execute the 8.5.0 version with java8 VM and work fine the menus.

Sorry for my bad english.

…izable with JDK 8. This was already fixed in JDK 9 as a part of JDK-8152421.
