Just shows a blank window in Windows on a dualscreen setup #145
Comments
Sorry about the problem. What happens if you run it from the terminal in Windows? Also, which version of Windows are you running? |
OFFICIAL
Hi Vadim
Same result from cmd and windows powershell
I’m using windows 10.0.16299. I had to agree to trust the publisher the first time I ran Hammer.
Also our network keeps getting tighter, does Hammer need a network connection before it displays anything in its window?

Hi
No diagnostics.
The application is running. When I click a few time in random positions on the white page I can get the following window:
[cid:image001.png@01D5512E.F7898CF0]
It seems to be a display problem – white on white. 😝

What does the output on cmd say? The diagnostics, if any, might help.
Also our network keeps getting tighter, does Hammer need a network connection before it displays anything in its window?
Nope - no network requests at load. It just loads Main.qml from the disk at start which is what provides the UI.
The validators will try to connect to the terminology server to validate codes and that's about it.
I tested with Windows 10.0.17763, it worked OK.

If I start Hammer on a screen pluged into the USB C docking station it is blank
If I start it on the lap-top’s own screen – it works. And I can move the window onto one of the monitors connected through the USB C hub. But then the window contents do not respond to mouse clicks. But when I drag the window back to the lap top screen it does respond to mouse clicks.
Nasty.

Hm, the image attachment didn't come through the email response. Yeah, that is not good, and unfortunately my Windows setup is single-screen only so I can't replicate this. I'll see what I can do, but glad you have a way to start it for now. |
Describe the bug
I downloaded the windows .zip file.
Extracted the files to a new directory.
Ran hammer.exe.
Got hammer with a white window. Nothing interesting happens. Task manager has it using a tiny amount of CPU. Left it for over 5 minutes.
What do I try next?
