Feature description
This is not a feature request, but a description of the feature that will be introduce in the next release.
YouTube has a feature called Dynamic Range Compression (DRC).
Alternatively known as
Volume normalization
, it is a feature that limits the output of the volume. On YouTube, there is a flyout menu
Stable volume
that allows you to disable this feature. In recent months, Google has also introduced DRC on YouTube Music.
Unlike YouTube, there is no way to disable it on YouTube Music.
A new patch,
Disable DRC audio
, which will be added in the next release, will disable DRC by setting the volume output limit ratio to 0.Motivation
Spoof streaming data
patch will also be added to YouTube Music. If
Spoof streaming data
is enabled, the volume output is further limited by DRC.(Unpatched YT Music: -4.7 dB, Patched YT Music: -11.7 dB)
That's why the
Disable DRC audio
patch is needed.Disable DRC audio
patch is classified as a new patch as it does not restore the behavior of unpatched YT Music.Acknowledgements
