I've a minimalist style on a static blog, and I would like to hide the avatars without a display:none in CSS. Is there some kind of "data-isso-avatars="false"" we could use ?

Sounds reasonable. I made a few quick changes and it seems that the comments template needs a rework because the "nesting" of comments is based on the avatar width currently.
