The Syrian flag emoji needs to be updated #119
Comments
Well, this is in fact how I found out about the Syrian government collapse. This isn't as easy as Mauritania's flag change: Mauritania's flag change didn't also involve a regime change that needed to be recognized by the international community. As with our usual approach for flag changes caused by regime changes, we're going to hold out and see what happens first. For a better understanding as to why, check out this Emojipedia blog post that someone also linked in the Noto repo comments for this issue. We'll leave this open until we decide what to do. |
The flag has been officially adopted and now also appears on Wikipedia. |
because it's the de facto flag. |
Can we please update the flag already. both the flag carrier and private airliners have changed the flag to the new one and Many Embassies Syrian embassies around the world have also changed the flag https://www.arabtimesonline.com/news/new-flag-hoisted-at-syria-embassy/ lots of diplomatic missions have been made already between many countries including the entire gulf (saudi, qatar, uae, kuwait, oman, bahrain,) UK and some EU countries |
I suggest that Syrian flag needs to be updated to reflect current changes
