home-automation is a simple attempt to utilise a Raspberry Pi for various home automation tasks including:
- TV control using LIRC
- Home stats (temperature & power usage)
- Socket / light switch control
The project uses a Raspberry Pi to handle all requests. It's running Apache 2 and through a few scripts allows a user to control various aspects of their house.
There is also an accompanying Android app optimised for a Nexus 7.
- Raspberry Pi (using Raspbian)
- USB IR Toy v2
- TellStick
The total cost is around £60 for the Pi, IR Toy and TellStick.
- RF compatible remote sockets
- Sony RM-ED035 TV
- Nexus 7 (or any Android device)
