ZenPackBuilderDocker

Framework for using the CustomScriptBuilder[1] repo in a Docker container where a development lab may be unavailable

Installation:

From scratch:

# git clone https://github.com/linkslice/ZenPackBuilderDocker.git
# cd ZenPackBuilderDocker
# docker build -t customscriptbuilder .
# cd /tmp/
# mkdir libexec
# <move your scripts into libexec>
# docker run -v $(pwd):/mnt/pwd -it customscriptbuilder /bin/bash /CustomScriptBuilder/makepack.sh -a "Your Name" -n CompanyName -v <version>

You should end up with an egg in /tmp/

From Docker Hub: There 2 images depending on the version of Zenoss that you're running. Use the centos tag if you're on 6.7 or earlier and ubuntu if later, or cloud.

# docker pull linkslice/customscriptbuilder:<tag>
# mkdir libexec
# <move your scripts into libexec>
# docker run -v $(pwd):/mnt/pwd -it linkslice/customscriptbuilder:latest /bin/bash /CustomScriptBuilder/makepack.sh -a "Your Name" -n CompanyName -v <version>

** If you're not adding custom script but just trying to get the Nagios plugins installed you can skip the steps of making a libexec directory

** Add -p to install Nagios Plugins into your container and add to to egg automatically.

If using docker desktop under windows the docker run command might look more like:

# docker run -v $PWD/:/mnt/pwd -it linkslice/customscriptbuilder:latest /bin/bash /CustomScriptBuilder/makepack.sh -a "Your Name" -n CompanyName -v <version>

If you're feeling adventurous, there's an experimental webapp you can host in docker or control center found here: https://github.com/linkslice/ZenPackLab
