Selecting a license is definitely important. Is a code of conduct necessary?

In itself, it is not difficult to create one. But you are right, it is not necessary, with such a small number of contributors. Still, it doesn't hurt to have one for the future.

You make a good point. Both artefacts will be necessary eventually. I would really like the chance to create these myself just to have some influence on the culture of the project. I will leave this as an issue and assign it to myself.
