Welcome to the CRSFJoystick wiki!
This assumes some familiarity with ELRS and how to use the ELRS ecosystem. Please refer to expresslrs.org.
Prebuilt adapters have ELRS Bind Phrase of 'elrssim'. I suggest you reflash the RX inside of the ELRS Joystick Adapter with your bind phrase. This can be done via the WiFi flashing method. The ELRS RX that is inside the adapter is marked on the bag it was shipped in. As of 5/1/2022 both HappyModel EP2 and BetaFPV Lite RXs have been used. A majority have been HappyModel EP2 RX's.
Once flashed, make sure your radio binds and obtains link to the adapter. Launch your favorite sim and configure your Radio as you normally would as if it were plugged in. The ELRS Joystick Adapter should show up as a HID USB Device to your computer. You can test without a sim using https://gamepad-tester.com.
Tested with Liftoff, VelociDrone, DRL, DCL, TinyWhoopGO, and a handful of others.
Think of the ELRS Joystick Adapter as a FC that can only be used for Sim.
Find me (HouseFPV) on FPVExchange or Discord if you need help getting it going.

Benefits to using this adapter over Bluetooth, hardwired, or other methods of connectivity.
- It binds and flashes like an RX in a quad.
-
- You shouldn't have to change models in your Radio to get this to work.
-
- You shouldn't have to select anything but an already working ELRS model on your Radio. No menu's. Just power on and go.
- No cables connected to your Radio
- A dedicated device you can leave with your computer
- Better latency compared to some Bluetooth implementations
- Possibly a fully baked version w/ Pi Pico and ELRS RX soldered down. Think FrSky-Sim USB Dongle.
- Build a board to support the WaveShare RP2040-Zero
- Build a board to support the SEEED AXIO RP2040
- Possibly offer BYO RX kits as the adapter also supports CRSF and Tracer RX's (tested and verified!)
