It seems this comment for _stat (and the subsequent backslash workaround handling)

ModelicaStandardLibrary/Modelica/Resources/C-Sources/ModelicaInternal.c

Lines 405 to 408 in 8e7876b

got obsoleted by Visual Studio 2015 according to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/c-runtime-library/reference/stat-functions?view=msvc-140
