You must erase all dockers layers before run a new recipe. Take in considerations that not all recipes can be built for all versions.

## Local installation

https://unofficial-builds.nodejs.org/download/ hosts compressed archives that may be downloaded and installed by end-users. Each downloadable archive contains bin/, include/, lib/, share/ directories. There are different ways to install nodejs from the compressed files. Choose one of these methods below.

For frequent production use, please mirror the executables to your own servers.

1. Manually unzip the archive into /usr/local/, thereby creating the various directories such as bin/, lib/, etc. (Note that this will include extraneous files at the top-level, including CHANGELOG.md, README.md and LICENSE).
or
2. Github Actions example: https://github.com/dixyes/ghactionsplay/blob/main/.github/workflows/glibc217node20.yml
or
3. (experimental). Download install-node.sh from https://gist.github.com/rvagg/742f811be491a49ba0b9 . Examine and modify the script as needed. Contributions are welcome. The script could be added to this repository in the future.
or
4. (experimental). `nvm` method. The general idea with `nvm` is this will install the software:
```
NVM_NODEJS_ORG_MIRROR=https://unofficial-builds.nodejs.org/download/release nvm install 12
```
However, `nvm` is looking for an exactly named file which it may not always find.
`node-v20.9.0-linux-x64.tar.gz` instead of `node-v20.9.0-linux-x64-glibc-217.tar.gz`.
Therefore a possible idea is to create a mirror of https://unofficial-builds.nodejs.org/download/release such as https://www.example.com/download/release, including files index.json and index.tab. Rename archives in the mirror so `nvm` will recognize them. For example, copy `node-v20.9.0-linux-x64-glibc-217.tar.gz` to `node-v20.9.0-linux-x64.tar.gz`. Then an installation would succeed:
```
NVM_NODEJS_ORG_MIRROR=https://www.example.com/download/release nvm install v20.9.0
```
