Add new configuration parameter: vm_base_path, which adds ability to clone VM into custom folder in vSphere. Currently template's parent folder is used.

This is great! Would it be possible to add auto creation of the folder if it doesn't exist? That way I wouldn't have to manually create these myself based on vagrant project name or put them all in the same folder..

Yes, it's possible. There is one boolean parameter in rbvmomi. Frankly I missed it.
The question only if folder should be created by default. I don't think we need new parameter here, so "true" can be hardcoded.

Thanks, I was curious to see how hard it would be and it seems this is all that's required to get this behaviour working: #76. Hopefully this can be integrated soon.
