Ampache

The Music app contains an Ampache compatible server. Below, you can find a list of API clients which have been tested to be compatible with it. Feel free to supplement the list if you know any more working clients. For any incompatible clients, you may report an issue and it's possible that the compatibility may be fixed.

The following Ampache client applications have been tested to be compatible with the Music app v1.11.0:

[1] Requires Music v1.9.0 or newer. Ample v3 requires Music v1.11.0 or newer.

[2] Fork of Ample specifically targeting ownCloud/Nextcloud Music. Unlike in the other clients, the server address shouldn't be copied from the Settings page of Music but the plain address of your cloud should be used. For example, if the full address shown on Settings is "https://somedomain.net/nextcloud/index.php/apps/music/ampache", then the address to give to Ample.fm is "somedomain.net/nextcloud/index.php".

[3] Requires Music v1.9.0 or newer. When checked 2023-10-14, the latest Foam release v0.6.2-beta had a bug breaking the compatibility but it was fixed in the main branch

[4] Requires Music v1.9.0 or newer.

[5] Requires Music v0.17.0 or newer.

[6] The app can use both Ampache and Subsonic APIs. Ampache is recommended but it doesn't work on Music app versions older than 0.15.1.

The following client applications have been earlier tested to be compatible but seem to be no longer maintained. Most of these will not work on up-to-date OS/platform versions and the rest can't be recommended, either:

HISTORICAL NOTE: The Ampache API doesn't work on Nextcloud versions 20.0.0 - 20.0.4 because of the issue https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/23544.
