so this is now on my radar screen as I need some solution.

I've taken a look at: https://github.com/AdamPflug/express-brute

There's a mongo adapter. Would be nice to make this easy to "plugin" and use mongo as the backing store

My assumption would be that we really only need to protect the "login" endpoint/functionality...?
