Temporary Bridge (Implant)

patmo141 edited this page Apr 27, 2016 · 3 revisions

Temporary bridges can be planned for anticipated immediate temporization of implants. A separate post will cover temporary bridges for conventional crown and bridge applications.

A test file can be downloaded [here] (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2586482/odc_public_documentation/Temp%20Bridge%20Implant/temp_bridge_simple.blend) with a basic splint already designed.

Plan Your Restorations.

For this it is easiest to use the "Plan Multiple" function.

  1. Plan the abutments as full contour units
  2. Plan the pontics as pontics
  3. Plan the implant sites as implants

Here, because I don't have a better example file, I will plan a 3 unit bridge in teeth 35,36,37 (ISO numbers) and create them all as premolars, even though the 2nd premolar is there. The software doesn't care as long as you have 3 consecutive restorations planned.

Design your splint base. This can be done before or after designing the bridge or before or after planning the anticipated implant locations. Please refer to the Splint Basics section

Place your teeth in the proper place using the crown and bridge tools.
