This is a feature request 😸

Could the README templates include a place-holder for badges, i.e. a line with <!-- badges --> to make it easier to then add badges programmatically (by identifying this line and appending new badges to it)?

Allow user to declare badge block

Looks for <!-- badges: start --> and <!-- badges:end -->, which  been added to the default templates. Also refreshed all badges in usethis README.

Fixes #497.
