Edge doesn't hide sidebar correctly

Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0 doesn't correctly handle translate+transition by an amount specified by a CSS variable. This is currently how we make the sidebar get hidden, so we should work around this.

Please change the title to "Sidebar doesn't work correctly with Edge or IE".
Even if the root cause is Microsoft -- doesn't matter. I think you have to "work around this" as you originally suggested. It is unusable as is since the Table of Contents and text overlap. My workaround was to download and use Chrome (solely for mdbook reading.)
