To ensure that hyphens (-) and especialy -- and --- are shown as is and not rendert as en/em dash. This is important for cmds like git --version where the -- has a meaning.
With this min git 2.23 is required. All checkouts are replaced with switch for branch switching, and restore for discarding changes in files.
