Hi Simon,

These are great! Would you consider donating them to Unicode, to be integrated into:

https://github.com/unicode-org/text-rendering-tests

I also like to mirror them into HarfBuzz for testing purposes.

Thanks

Thank you! I would be happy to; the only reason I didn't was because I thought these were more OpenType-specific than Unicode-related. (The Unicode rendering test fonts are great too.) But if others find them useful, then sure, take them.

I'm planning to add more fonts - I don't have a good way to make CBDT fonts, and when I tried making some by hand, I managed to make OTS segfault!

I should put a free license on them at the very least.

Yes. Put Unicode-friendly license please.

@anthrotype is going to work on color font build pipeline. This is immensely useful for that. Here is my suggested plan for him:

googlefonts/fontmake#30 (comment)

You can find CBDT-building code linked in there in my color-emoji repo as well as Noto.

Interesting, I’d like to have that font if you still have it.

CBDT is tricky and complicated, maybe chromacheck's CBDT is useful https://pixelambacht.nl/chromacheck/ to see how it should work.

@khaledhosny Here we go: (.txt added to satisfy github)
CBDT.ttx.txt

I don’t get any crash with the attached file after ttxing it.
