See Service.spec.loadBalancerClass, this should ideally be configured on the ListenerClass.

This would be useful for both:

  • Clusters with multiple load balancer controllers
  • Manually configuring DNS hostnames for services

allocateLoadBalancerNodePorts could also be useful for minimizing the impact of the latter case...
