Let gfortran tell the code via
__GFORTRAN__that it is being compiled by gfortran, rather than adding some extra define to the command line. See http://fortranwiki.org/fortran/show/Predefined+preprocessor+macrosOr to rephrase that, we don’t need to tell the code when we’re using gfortran, the code already knows.
