Scripts

A few examples and scripts that have proved useful are included in the folder Scripts. More detail information is present in the scripts themselves (e.g. using help()).

bpch2netCDF.py

Programme to convert multiple bpch files to a single netCDF. This is portable and can be called as post-run script or directly at the command line.

Basic_planeflight_plotter.py

Plots up GEOS-Chem planeflight output as timeseries plots.

Basic_GEOSChem_bpch_plotter.py

Plots up GEOS-Chem ctm.bpch as 2D maps using PyGChem. This programme can also calculate tropospheric burdens.

Animate array

Animates a NetCDF file.

pf2NetCDF.py

Converts GEOSChem into 2D, 3D, or 4D NetCDF files. Written particularly for processing surface data outputted from GEOSChem's planeflight diagnostic.

mk_planeflight_input_file_for_point_locs.py

Makes dat files required for GEOS-Chem's planeflight diagnostics when fixed locations are required over a period of time (e.g. observational stations).

mk_planeflight_input_file_for_campaign_locs.py

Makes dat files required for GEOS-Chem's planeflight diagnostics when different locations are required in 3D space (e.g. science campaigns using aircraft or ships).

Prod_Loss_4_spec.py

Tools to allow for automated analysis of prod/loss species in by reading globchem.dat and smv2.log files. This allows for debugging/checking of tagged simulations
