[24H2] Task Manager context menu option on taskbar does not function #3021
Comments
That is a canary build: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/windows-11-insider-canary-26080-1-and-dev-build-26080-1201-kb5037135-24h2-march-15.23445/ Canary builds are not supported because the code is not final and can change with each new release. |
Then why does the release page say it was tested with 26058.1000? That is also a canary build. Symbols automatically download for canary updates and I'd assume the point of having an issue tracker is to fix and improve ExplorerPatcher for upcoming windows releases. The Task Manager context option should just launch the task manager process. It functions fine without ExplorerPatcher. |
26058.1 and 26058.1000 are not the same build of windows. And stuff changes in between canary builds that doesn't guarantee EP will work. |
I'll have it fixed in the next update. It also does not work in my private build with the reimplemented taskbar with the system tray. The point of Dev and Canary is in my opinion, is to test software that will be run by the masses on that future version of Windows. EP is one of them. I strongly disagree if we leave EP incompatible with Insider builds. Depending on what they change, we can still cope with their changes and keep EP compatible with them. Fortunately there's not much that changed in 26002-present. |
Fixed in 66.5. |
Windows 11 Version 24H2 (OS Build 26080.1)
ExplorerPatch 22621.3296.64.1
Taskbar style: Windows 11
Right clicking the taskbar to open the context menu and choosing
Task Manager
does not open the Task Manager process. Task Manager does open if I usectrl + shift + esc
or searchTask Manager
in start.Exported settings: ExplorerPatcher_22621.3296.64.1.zip
