Ubuntu App Center install no sound.

🪲 Describe the bug

I installed the app fresh this morning on a Linux laptop running Ubuntu 24.04 via the Ubuntu App Center (based on 2 January 2025 release). There is no sound, either with the default sound or a default. It also does not remain on top, or give notifications.

• "Always On Top" not always on top.
• "Auto-start Work Timer" and "Auto-start Break Timer" settings are off, but the timer auto-starts in both contexts.

I installed from the release page (x86 version), and it works fine.

v0.3.1, installed using Ubuntu App Center; then from the Release page to get sound to work.

Thanks for the report @Merovex ! As I am not using Ubuntu, I will need a little more context to be sure to understand what's going on.

So, what you are saying is that, if you install pomodorolm from the App Center (I suppose it’s the default software management system on Ubuntu?) pomodorolm doesn't work as expected. But if you install it from the release page, it works as expected?

If so, could you explain to me what « installing from the release page » means? What command did you perform that are different from the « App Center method »?

I was able to reproduce the problem in a Virtual Machine, working on it!
