This is a guide for using the Police Data Access Point and associated tools, and contributing data or code. |
We're cataloguing sources of data in a database at https://pdap.io so people can find information about local police systems. Here's our app roadmap.
Our github organization contains our code repositories. We have a handful of apps working in conjunction to identify, collect, document, archive, and share sources of data.
- The Data Sources App repo is the back end for our Data Sources API.
- The pdap.io repo is our primary interface for working with the API.
- The Data Source Identification repo houses our code for collecting sources for the database.
{% hint style="success" %} People of all skill levels can help with our mission! {% endhint %}
- Use the "Activities" menu on the left to see guides for common volunteer tasks.
- Everyone is welcome in our Discord, or our email inbox at contact@pdap.io.
- To contribute code, start with a Good First Issue.
- To support us financially, you can donate here. We're a non-profit, so your donations may be tax-deductible.
