  • there is a large PR which tries to migrate to fw4: #2783
  • it might be an option to use plain nftables without external tooling
    • would allow saving some space (-ucode, -nftables-json)
    • might be more stable (nftables directly vs fw4, what is more long lasting...) and wouldn't require indirection over uci
    • custom config via /etc/nftables.d would still be possible
