What is Winlink?

Winlink is a mail service that can be accessed from any Radio Frequency and also internet. (Check https://www.winlink.org)

This process of the Tracker uses APRSLink connection over APRS, the same way any APRS/ASFK Handy can do, and it all depends on having an iGate with Rx and Tx capabilities near you to use it. (To read all the commands for this you can check: https://www.winlink.org/APRSLink)

So you need to create a Winlink account with your calling (https://www.winlink.org/user) and you will get your password: 6 letters that you should save on the tracker_conf.json file.

Login Process

Go into the 5th Menu , press into Login and the process start sending a "login message" which will return with a challenge from Winlink and it will be automatically generated and answered. As soon the process is achieved the Menu will change to use the full Winlink actions. Remember that Winlink login get you connected to them for 2 hours!.

Posible Winlink Actions

Winlink will let you:

• List the received mails (a small resume of all received will be received as a message and saved on received mails on the menu).
• Read mail n.X (being "x" one of the number of mails received on the "list received mails" actions before).
• Reply mail n.X (the same "x" from the "list received mails" actions before).
• Forward mail n.X (the same "x" from before but it will ask you to write to whom it will be forwarded).
• Write a Mail (it will ask for Whom it is, the Subject of the mail and lastly the Body of the Mail).
• Delete mail n.X (the same "x" from before).
• Create Alias (you can create an alias for future, to write less when sending a mail. Example: you create alias "someone" which tell winlink that it means "someone@somemail.com". So you can then write a mail to "someone" and winlink will make the change automatically to the alias saved with them. The Alias menu lets you create, delete and list all alias.
• Logout

Bonus Actions

All mails and messages received by Winlink will be saved in the internal memory of the tracker and will be readable with or without being logged to Winlink. Even rebooting the LoRa APRS Tracker won't delete the saved messages from Winlink.

Que es Winlink?

Winlink es un servicio de mail que se puede conectar por cualquier frecuencia de radio o por internet. (Revisa https://www.winlink.org).

En este proceso el tracker usa APRSLink para conectarse por APRS, tal como lo hace un Handy de APRS/AFSK y dependerá de estar cerca de un iGate con posibilidades de Rx y Tx. (Para revisar todos los comandos que se pueden usar revisa: https://www.winlink.org/APRSLink)

Debes crear un usuario con tu indicativo (https://www.winlink.org/user) and recibirás una clave de 6 letras que debes ingresar en el archivo tracker_conf.json.

Proceso de conexión

En el menu 5 , presiona Login y comenzara enviando mensajes para conectar. Winlink responderá y seguirá automáticamente intercambiando mensajes y respondiendo a la solicitud de clave. Cuando el procese se complete el Menu cambiara y se podrán usar todas las otras funciones de Winlink. Recuerda que lograr la conexión te da 2 horas de uso con ellos!.

Posibilidades de uso de Winlink

Winlink te permitirá:

• List the received mails = Listar todos los mensajes recibidos (Esto llegara como un breve resumen de todos los correos y se guardaran todos como mensajes en la memoria interna del Tracker).
• Read mail n.X = Leer correo n.X (donde "x" es uno de los números de correos que llegaron en la respuesta anterior).
• Reply mail n.X = Responder correo n.X (misma "x" de la lista de correos recibidos).
• Forward mail n.X = Reenviar correo n.X (misma "x" pero te pedirá ingresar a quien se reenviará el correo).
• Write a Mail = Escribir correo (preguntara el destinatario, el asunto y finalmente el cuerpo del correo a enviar).
• Delete mail n.X = Borrar correo n.X (misma "x" de antes).
• Create Alias (puedes crear una palabra corta para usar en el futuro que reemplazara a escribir el destinatario completo. Ejemplo: creas el alias "alguien" y le dices a winlink que entienda que es "alguien@alguncorreo.com". Asi el proximo correo se lo envias a "alguien" y Winlink hará la conversion del destinatario automáticamente. El menu Alias permite crear, borrar y listar todos los alias que tengas.
• Logout = desconectarse.

Acciones Bonus

Todos los mails recibidos se almacenaran como mensajes de Winlink en la memoria interna del Tracker. La ventaja de esto es que pueden ser leídos posteriormente sin tener que estar conectados a Winlink o incluso reiniciando el Tracker no se perderán.
