Guide of Upgrading Quanto Flx
Caution
If you install the upgrade directly, your settings will be lost.
But before upgrading, you can back up your settings and layout, and then restore them after the installation. This article will guide you through backing up all your settings.
You can use the Backup Wizard to quickly back up all your current skin settings.
You can open it following the wizard's instructions, or open it through the Quanto Flx Manager:
- Open the Quanto Flx Manager -> Global Settings -> Backup and Restore -> Open "Backup Wizard"
In the Backup Wizard, click on the option of Package to back up. You can choose to back up all of your package's settings.
You can use Rainmeter Manager to save your current layout. The Rainmeter Manager can be opened via the Quanto Flx Manager, or the Rainmeter icon in the tray.
Once the Rainmeter Manager is open, select the Layout page, and you will see the "Save new layout" part. Enter the name of the current layout, and then click "Save". You can also check the settings above when you need them.
Once you have done the backup you just made, you're ready to install this upgrade.
Caution
In order to apply the backup after the upgrade, you must check "Apply included layout" in the Rainmeter Skin Suite installation process (If you don't select this option, you'll see a "broken" layout), and then select "No, I updated Quanto Flx from an older version" in the "Is it your first time using Quanto Flx" step. You should restore the settings first and then restore the layout.
You can use the Restoration Wizard to quickly restore most of your skin settings.
Click "Restore settings from a backup", and then select the folder you just backed up in the pop-up window.
Click the option to restore the settings.
Warning
Some skin settings from backups from older versions may not work with the new version and will be ignored.
You will see the "Saved layouts" part in the "Layout" page of Rainmeter Manager after click the option "Restore the layout via Rainmeter Manager". Select the name of the layout you just saved and click "Load", and you're done upgrading from the old version.
Caution
If you don't restore the skin settings beforehand, you'll see the "broken" layout.
After following the steps above, most of the skin's settings and layout should be retained.
